TO CHEAT OR NOT TO CHEAT?

  • Are you for or against cheating?
  • Please, write your arguments.
  • Don't forget to comment on other students' ideas.
  • Be polite and use linking words.
As for me, I'm strongly against cheating. In my view, it's a crime. Cheats are thieves who steal other people's brains, time and nerves.

  1. There are many pros and cons of cheating.
First, it helps you to get good mark. And it's easier than to learn and learn all day.
On the other hand, it doesn't help you to have more knowlegde. And in examinations you will have to use only your knowledge.
But it will be good when you understan what you write off.
And of course you can ask teacher or your classmate help you to understand.

    1. Do you remember our formula of success? Hard work is number 1. And you want to get a good mark in an easy way...

    2. I see what you mean and I said you would get a good mark, maybe better than your classmate, but that couldn't influence on your knowledge.

  2. I agree with Bogdan, because cheating won't give you any knowledge, but when you write a cheat sheet you will automatically remember some things. Also in future life it will help you to do your work, 'cause with cheating you can get a high position on your work.
But i see some interesting facts, all adult people are cheating: on a work, in a shop, everywhere and it is more serious than cheat at school, but all the same adults blame children for what they have learned from their parents...

  3. I'm for cheating. Because some teachers ask too much material to learn and it is imposible to remember so much.
Zhenia, I think you are right. Because when we write something we remember it better then we are learning it.That a reason we take notes on the lessons to learn less at home.
But Tatiana Yurievna, to cheat mean not only to copy or steal someone's work, it can mean writting off from YOUR exercise book or YOUR cheat sheet. You can ceat or write off with out any help.
I think cheating has only two pluses: when you write a cheat sheet you remember material and ceating can help you to get good grades.

For my view cheating is great problem for teachers and great rescue for pupils. Sometime when you wasn’t ready to the lesson, and low mark will destroy your mark for term it helped you.
On the other way if teacher caught you, you will have 1. Also it won’t give you any knowledge. Moreover it’s unfair to other pupils, who learn.
All in all cheating is negative thing, but I think, that there were NO student, who have never cheated.
    P.S. excuse for size.

    1. I think you have pointed out the main argument against cheating: it's unfair towards those pupils who study.

  5. hi everybody)
i don't have any oppinion about cheating. because to cheat or not to cheat is decision of every person. as for me if i can decide i'll choose to learn. but sometimes you just don't have such choise.
also i can't agree with Yan and Zhenia. because when you copy something (it doesn't matter from where from your neighbor's work or your own exercise book) you don't remember anything because don't think about anything except cheating and there is to many adrenalin in your blood which doesn't give you chance to remember any material.
but if someone cheat i don't care. i won't tell teacher because sometimes i cheat too.
moreover i can agree with any paragraph in the book. i think teachers wrote it that's why they are incorrect

    1. Sasha, I don't understand your last paragraph. Do you agree with incorrect paragraphs in the book?

  6. OK, Yan and Zhenia, I accept cheat-sheets when you write them by yourself at home to feel more confident during a test. Actually, I wouldn't call it serious cheating as you spend a lot of time making them. This way you don't steal other students' time and efforts.

  7. I'm against cheating. I think that everyone should just get himself (including good grades). Actually, I believe that the marks - isn't an indicator of knowledge. Cheating - a way to improve your grades, but no more. Write off students who don't know. Confident and clever people don't cheat. Cheat is bad.

    1. So, you don't cheat?
If marks aren't an indicator of knowledge, why do you want to improve them?
